Applications for the Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program are open
This scholarship is designed to identify talented high school seniors, as well as first and second-year college students, aspiring to become teachers for Illinois schools-of-need. On top of college tuition-assistance, scholars are provided four years of paid residential summer institutes, giving students on-site classroom experience, preparation to supplement their college curriculum, academic support through their college years, and mentoring from Golden Apple award-winning teachers during their first years of teaching.
Scholars may apply directly to the program or be referred.
Apply to be a Scholar:
High school students graduating in 2019 or first- and second-year college students can apply to become a Scholar by clicking here. Applications close on March 1, 2019.
Refer a Scholar:
Refer a student to become a Golden Apple Scholar. Students will receive an email with login information and a link to the online application. Referrals close January 2019.
- Residents of Illinois
- GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Qualifying composite score on the ACT or SAT
