Field Experience Process
Approved Illinois Teacher Educator Preparation Programs at the University of Illinois Chicago prepare undergraduate and graduate students to become leaders in education. Each program requires supervised field experiences with students in schools. Field Experience Hours are included as course assignments in specified courses within each program. A list of courses that require Field Experience Hours can be found here, however, refer to an academic catalog for comprehensive course information. The total number of Field Experience Hours required per educator preparation program varies by program. Contact the appropriate program representative for more information.

The field experience process includes completing two requirements.
- Complete CPS Field Experience Process
- Record Field Experience Hours
Each field experience requirement has a specific completion deadline. The required CPS Field Experience Process is due before the start of your field experience. The CPS Field Experience Process needs to be completed only once during your entire Teacher Educator Preparation Program.
Note, the CPS Field Experience Process is not the CPS Student Teaching Process.
Students are required to record all Field Experience Hours before the end of the semester that field experience was conducted. Click on the Record Field Experience Hours tab to record hours.
